Overview

One of India's largest two-wheeler and three-wheeler manufacturers operates a highly complex supply chain spanning thousands of vendors, dealer networks, and manufacturing plants across India and international markets. To support scale-intensive operations, the company has deployed a multi-module ERP system managing procurement, inventory, production planning, and dealer management.

We partnered with the company to architect and implement a Python-based ERP integration layer during python web development that unified fragmented legacy ERP modules, automated cross-system data flows, and delivered real-time operational visibility across the enterprise. The engagement resulted in a measurably faster, more reliable, and more agile digital manufacturing backbone.

Our Process

Python India worked closely with the client's technology and operations teams to audit the existing ERP architecture, map cross-module data flows, and design a Python-based middleware integration layer. The engagement covered automation of procurement and vendor reconciliation workflows, development of a real-time supply chain visibility dashboard, synchronization of the dealer management system with the core ERP, and implementation of automated testing, error handling, and alerting pipelines.

We designed a lightweight, high-performance middleware layer built on Python using Django REST Framework and Celery for asynchronous task processing. The middleware acted as the integration hub between the ERP modules, connecting procurement, inventory, production, and dealer management through a unified API gateway.

Procurement and Purchase Order Automation

Python scripts automated the end-to-end purchase order lifecycle, from requisition generation and approval routing to vendor acknowledgment and goods receipt confirmation. Rule-based automation engines evaluated vendor performance metrics and inventory reorder points to trigger purchase orders without manual intervention.

Real-Time Supply Chain Visibility Dashboard

A Python and Django-powered analytics dashboard aggregated live data from all integrated ERP modules into a single operational control center. Production planners could monitor component inventory levels, pending supplier deliveries, and work-in-progress statuses on a unified screen refreshed in near-real-time. Predictive demand signals, derived from historical ERP data processed through Python data pipelines, were surfaced directly in the dashboard.

Our team built a bi-directional synchronization pipeline connecting the dealer management system to the core ERP. Vehicle dispatch records, dealer stock levels, and warranty claim data were synchronized in real time, eliminating month-end reconciliation backlogs. Dealer-facing APIs allowed authorized partners to query vehicle availability and order status programmatically, improving distributor experience.
